Halo: Combat Evolved hay còn được gọi tắt là Halo 1 là phiên bản đầu tiên trong Seri game nhập vai nổi tiếng Halo.Trong game bạn sẽ được hóa thân thành lực lượng quân sự chiến đấu và bảo vệ trái đất khỏi người ngoài hành tinh.Game được lấy bối cảnh vào thế kỷ 25 con người đã có thể thám hiểm ngoài vũ trụ thậm chí xây dựng được căn cứ ở các hành tinh khác

nhưng sau khi bị tấn công bởi các sinh vật ngoài hành tinh có tên là Covenant.Chiếc tàu vũ trụ (Pillar of Autumn) bị nhảy xuyên không gian trong cuộc chạy trốn.Mọi người trên Pillar of Autumn đều vô cùng kinh ngạc khi nơi mà họ đáp xuống là một hành tinh nhân tạo hình vành khuyên được gọi tắt là Halo,tại đây sẽ diễn ra các trận chiến ác liệt từ bờ biển cho tới những nơi âm u tối tăm của Halo




Đúng vào lúc đó đội quân Covenant bất ngờ tấn công những người còn lại của tàu vũ trụ Pillar of Autumn.Bạn sẽ được nhập vai Master Chief vốn là một siêu chiến binh thuộc lực lượng tinh nhuệ Spartan sẽ được đánh thức khỏi giấc ngủ đông để lãnh đạo những người còn sót lại chiến đấu với Covenant
Cũng giống như những game bắn súng góc nhìn thứ nhất khác Halo: Combat Evolved người chơi sẽ được điều khiên nhân vật qua góc nhìn thứ nhất.Trong game bạn sẽ có một dòng máu và một dòng năng lượng nói chung khá mỏng manh cho nên bạn phải thật khéo léo và thường xuyên để ý những vật phẩm có trên đường đi như súng ông đạn dược lựu đạn hay những bình máu tiếp tế.

Có một điểm rất hay ở Halo đó là kẻ định rất thông minh chúng biết đi theo nhóm hay ẩn lấp ở những tảng đá hay nhưng góc tối rồi bất ngờ xông ra tấn công có đôi lúc khiến người chơi giật mình vì có những máp đi trong hầm tối om bạn thử tưởng tượng có con gì nhảy ra xem :D :D.Nói về vũ khí trong game thì rất đa dạng tổng cộng có tất cả 10 loại vũ khí và lựu đạn khác nhau bạn có thể nhặt súng ở những điểm nhất định trong game hoặc có thể nhặt khi giết kẻ định.Game có lối chơi cực kỳ lôi cuốn vì chơi theo cốt truyện mà khi bạn giết hết kẻ định sẽ có phi thuyền tới đón và đưa tới địa điểm tiếp theo
