"Toukiden: Kiwami" là một game hành động săn bắn, trong đó người chơi đảm nhận vai trò là một Kẻ giết người sở hữu những khả năng độc đáo và chiến đấu với Oni để cứu loài người khỏi sự hủy diệt. Để đánh bại những Oni khổng lồ này, người chơi kết hợp với nhau để cắt, đâm và nghiền nát các bộ phận của Oni bằng cách sử dụng Hệ thống tiêu diệt mục tiêu!
- Hộ trợ tối đa đến 4 người chơi (Chế độ multiplayers):
Một số người chơi Oni sẽ gặp phải có kích thước gấp nhiều lần con người. Đánh bại những thứ này đòi hỏi nhiều hơn là tấn công đơn giản. Người chơi phải cắt một phần từ cơ thể của Oni, xuyên qua nó và sau đó nghiền nát nó để phá hủy nó. Việc sử dụng lưỡi hoặc cung phù hợp và hợp tác giữa những Slayers một cách hài hoà là cách duy nhất để đánh bại một Oni!
- Linh hồn của các anh hùng trong quá khứ của Nhật Bản (Mitama):
Khi Oni bị đánh, chúng giải phóng những linh hồn bị bắt gọi là Mitama. Những Mitama này có thể cư trú trong vũ khí và giúp Slayers mở khóa một số sức mạnh đặc biệt để sử dụng chống lại Oni. Có rất nhiều sức mạnh và người chơi có thể tận hưởng việc tạo ra thiết bị gốc của riêng mình. Ngoài ra, mỗi 300 Mitama này theo thời gian đều có hình minh họa và giọng nói đặc biệt, khiến chúng trở nên thú vị để thu thập.
- Một thế giới nguyên bản được vẽ trong lịch sử Nhật Bản:
Câu chuyện lấy bối cảnh ở một thế giới tách biệt giữa thời gian và không gian bởi sức mạnh của Oni. Người chơi bắt đầu với tư cách là một Slayer tân binh trong một ngôi làng Slayer tên là Utakata và chiến đấu với Oni trong các khu vực hiển thị các đặc điểm của các khoảng thời gian từ thời cổ đại đến Mạc phủ đầu tiên.
- Bạn bè và đồng minh:
Bạn được hoà mình  xung quanh là những cựu binh Slayers của làng Utakata. Những chiến binh này, bao gồm Ouka, một nữ kiếm sĩ không có tổ chức, sẽ hướng dẫn và huấn luyện người chơi khi họ cùng nhau chiến đấu với Oni và cứu lấy loài người.
"Toukiden: Kiwami" is a hunting action game where players take on the role of a Slayer possessing unique abilities, and battle the Oni to save mankind from destruction. 
To defeat these huge Oni, players band together to sever, pierce, and crush parts of the Oni using the Targeted Destruction System! 
- Multiplayer for up to 4 players is supported:
Sever! Pierce! Crush! -Targeted Destruction System-
Some of the Oni players will encounter are many times the size of a human. Defeating these require more than simply attacking. Players must sever a part from the Oni's body, pierce it, and then crush it in order to destroy it. The appropriate use of blade or bow, and cooperation between friendly Slayers is the only way to successfully defeat an Oni!
- Spirits of Heroes of Japan's Past (Mitama):
When Oni are beaten, they release captured spirits called Mitama. These Mitama can take residence in weapons and aid the Slayer unlock certain special powers for use against the Oni. There are a wide variety of powers and players can enjoy creating their own original equipment. Also, each of these 300 Mitama from across time come with a special illustration and voice, making them fun to collect.
 - An Original World painted in Japanese history:
The story is set in a world set apart in time and space by the power of the Oni. The player starts as a rookie Slayer in a Slayer village called Utakata and fights the Oni in areas that display characteristics of time periods ranging from ancient days to the early Shogunate.
 - Friends and Allies:
There to show this new rookie around are the veterans Slayers of the Utakata village. These warriors, including Ouka, a swordswoman with no equal in the organization, will guide and train the player as together they battle the Oni and save the human race.
